ERKAL Uluslararası Nakliyat ve Tic. A.Ş. operates “TK TUZLA SHIPYARD,” the largest ship repair facility in Tuzla Bay, Turkey. Situated in the Tuzla suburb of Istanbul, the shipyard offers drydocking, repair, and conversion services with efficient turnaround times and competitive pricing. Its facilities include a VLCC size floating dock with a lifting capacity of 109,000 tons, 1,000 meters of length capacity for berthing and afloat repairs, 5 workshops for steel cutting, machinery, and prefabrication works, along with a 100-ton floating crane, a 30-ton floating crane, 50 cherry pickers, and 86 blasting nozzles.

Gemak Tuzla Shipyard, established in 1969, is one of Turkey’s leading ship maintenance, repair, and conversion yards. It relocated to Tuzla, Istanbul, in 1981 and currently employs around 1,000 workers. Situated in the Tuzla bay region, it covers a total area of 45,000 square meters, including 16,000 square meters of enclosed space and 29,000 square meters of open facilities. The shipyard features two floating docks, a floating crane with a 100-ton lifting capacity, and various workshops for machining, mechanics, pipe work, sheet metal, and electrical services. Its facilities also include a Panamax floating dock, a Handymax dock, and a 421-meter pier length. Equipped with cranes ranging from 100-ton floating crane to several jib cranes with lifting capacities of up to 30 tons, Gemak Tuzla has an annual ship repair capacity of 2,100,000 DWT and can process 10,000 tons of steel per annum. Additionally, it can handle painting works covering 20,000 square meters per day. The shipyard accommodates various vessels for repair and conversion, including offshore platforms, tankers, Ro-Ro ships, bulk carriers, and tugboats. Gemak Tuzla Shipyard also specializes in different types of conversions, such as product tankers, general cargo ships, and Ro-Ro ships.

Desan Shipyard in Tuzlua is equipped with two floating docks and workshops covering 31,000 square meters, including an 8,000 square meter enclosed area, Desan Shipyard caters to vessels of various sizes. Their floating docks, ranging from 145 to 234 meters in length, boast lifting capacities from 8,500 to 49,000 metric tons. Moreover, their berthing options, comprising four berths and four alongside positions, accommodate vessels seeking superior repair and conversion services.

Tuzla Repair Shipyard Branch, located at Tuzla Tersan Shipyard, specializes in vessel drydocking, repair, conversion projects, and mechanical maintenance tasks such as shaft, rudder, propeller, and machinery repairs. Operating 24/7 to minimize downtime, the shipyard services approximately 50 to 70 vessels annually. The floating dock, with dimensions of 130.00 meters in length, 30.50 meters in outer width, and 22.50 meters in inner width, boasts a lifting capacity of 6,500 tons and is equipped with two 5-ton cranes. With a team of experts experienced in repairing various vessel types, including bulk carriers, general cargo ships, offshore vessels, chemical tankers, and more, the shipyard covers a total area of 10,000 square meters, including closed workshops and office spaces. Its equipment includes welding machines, radial drilling machines, sawing machines, and various cranes and forklifts. Services offered encompass steel repairs, tank cleaning, high-pressure water jet cleaning, sandblasting up to SA2½, propeller/shaft/rudder manufacturing, and maintenance of propulsion systems like CPP, Schottel, and Azimuth. Approved by classification societies, the shipyard also conducts boiler maintenance, engine overhauls, electrical repairs, and deck machinery maintenance.

Situated in Tuzla Aydınlı Bay, the Hidrodinamik Shipyard facility boasts a total area of 25,000 square meters, comprising 5,000 square meters of closed spaces and 20,000 square meters of open areas. Equipped with 3 slipways, 1 floating dock, and a pier spanning 750 meters in total, the facility accommodates vessels of up to 30,000 DWT on the pier and up to 9,000 DWT on the drydock and slipways. With a ship maintenance and repair capacity reaching 20 million DWT since its inception, the facility efficiently handles 20 ships simultaneously and services an average of 150 ships annually. Inaugurated in 2008, the 130-meter-long and 16-meter-wide drydock specializes in drydocking and surface repairs of ships up to 9,000 DWT. Supported by a 2*5-ton crane, the drydock boasts a lifting capacity of 3,000 tons, ensuring seamless operations and quality service.

The Kuzey Star Shipyard facility in Tuzla covers an expansive area of 108,000 square meters and boasts a 280-meter-long quay area. With 2 floating docks and 3 new building slipways housed within 30,000 square meters of covered space, it efficiently conducts repair, maintenance, docking, and new construction activities. Supported by 28 cranes of varying capacities and SPMTs capable of lifting 250 tons, the shipyard ensures smooth operations. It comprises workshops dedicated to steel, piping, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and valve works, while its specially designed offices offer a comfortable environment for both work and rest.

Located in Tuzla, Sanmar Shipyard offers high-quality and efficient services for tugboat construction and fabrication. With a capacity to complete up to 20 tugs annually, ranging from 30 to 100 tonnes bollard pulls, alongside special purpose workboats like electric tugboats, the shipyard is equipped to handle diverse maritime needs. The fabrication workshop spans 2725 square meters. The facility prioritizes safety and efficiency, integrating innovative systems to streamline operations. Among its key features are a well-lit fabrication shop, a social facility covering 520 square meters, and a management building spanning 2240 square meters, all within a total area of 5500 square meters. With a steel processing capacity of 4560 tons, the shipyard boasts impressive infrastructure, including a gantry crane capacity of 250 metric tons, a launching platform of 1000 meters, a quay length of 80 meters, and forklifts with capacities of 5 tons and 3 tons respectively.

RMK Marine specializes in providing comprehensive solutions across several sectors, including commercial and naval vessels up to 28,000 DWT and 196 meters in length, as well as aluminum and steel super yachts up to 80 meters, and composite super yachts up to 40 meters. With one of the largest areas among private shipyards in Turkey, RMK Marine boasts an expansive infrastructure, encompassing a total land area of 95,243 m², including 30,746 m² of closed area. The shipyard has an annual steel processing capacity of 10,636 tons and features a slipway measuring 170 meters by 60 meters. Additionally, it is equipped with a hydraulic lift with rubber wheels, including one with a capacity of 100 tons and another with a capacity of 320 tons, suitable for transporting yachts and small-scale vessels. Other notable facilities include slipway cranes (2 x 80 t), a mobile slipway (60 x 15 m) designed for yachts with up to 4.5 meters draft and 855 tons weight, and an outfitting pier measuring 200 meters by 15 meters.

Dentaş Shipyard continues its operations in the Tuzla region, Turkey’s foremost shipbuilding center, spanning a total area of 18,000 square meters, with 6,114 square meters dedicated to covered facilities. Providing both new construction and maintenance and repair services, Dentaş Shipyard preserves its expertise from the past through completed projects while staying abreast of technological advancements to meet the present-day needs of the maritime sector effectively. The facilities include 11,970 square meters of open space and 6,114 square meters of covered area, with a slipway measuring 145 by 25 meters. Equipped with lifting machinery such as a 120+120+80-ton portal crane, 2×10-ton crane, 2×25-ton crane, 2×15-ton crane, and others, along with steel workshops featuring oxygen and plasma cutting capabilities, the shipyard boasts an annual steel processing capacity of 9,000 tons. With a maximum new construction capacity of 20,000 DWT and a floating dock measuring 144.2 by 21.78 meters (with external dimensions of 30.1 meters width, 16.39 meters height, and 7.5 meters draft), Dentaş Shipyard stands as a significant player in the maritime industry.

Gisan Shipyard, situated in Tuzla, benefits from its strategic location bridging Europe and Asia. Covering a total area of 18,066 m2, with 4,938 m2 designated as enclosed space and 13,128 m2 as open area, it offers extensive facilities for ship maintenance and repair. Since the arrival of the floating dock in 2004, Torlak Shipyard has leveraged its expertise for the docking and repairs of ships worldwide, extending its experience to a global scale. With a 470-meter-long pier and the capacity to dock vessels up to 42,000 DWT, Torlak Shipyard successfully undertakes all types of repair jobs within its technical capabilities. From 2005 to 2011, the floating dock at Torlak served approximately 4 million DWT of ships. The integration of new construction, repair, and design departments at Torlak Shipyard highlights its advantages in conversion projects. Ceksan Shipyard, situated in Tuzla Bay, encompasses a 17,000 m2 area, boasting two slipways and a pier. The shipyard is well-equipped with facilities including a floating dock with a lifting capacity of 5000 tons and various cranes ranging from 5 to 100 tons. Its workshops feature modern machinery such as CNC plasma cutting machines, automated welding machines, and press machines, ensuring efficient operations. With over 70 new building projects completed and certifications from renowned classification societies like DNV and BV, Çeksan Shipyard offers expertise in shipbuilding up to 10,000 DWT. Additionally, the shipyard provides comprehensive repair, maintenance, and conversion services for vessels up to 25,000 DWT at pier service and up to 14,000 DWT in specific dimensions at docking service.

Sedef Shipyard, spanning a total area of 270,000 m² across its Tuzla and Orhanlı plants, stands as one of the Turkey’s largest private shipyard in both size and production capacity. The Tuzla facility encompasses 194,000 m², including 51,000 m² of indoor production space, while the Orhanlı plant covers 76,000 m², with 12,000 m² allocated for indoor production. Housing one of Turkey’s largest dry docks, the shipyard can accommodate vessels of up to 180,000 DWT for construction, repair, and maintenance, with a lifting capacity of up to 1,050 tons over the dry dock and 500 tons on the quay. With an annual steel working capacity exceeding 100,000 tons and a newbuilding capacity of 600,000 DWT, Sedef Shipyard boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including a dry dock measuring 310m x 50m x 8.3m and a semi-wet slipway measuring 250m x 41.2m. Additionally, the quay stretches 300m in length and 18m in width, with a draft ranging from approximately 5 to 11 meters.

Turkter Shipyard with its slipways measuring 192m X 36m, operates across 49,202 square meters of manufacturing space, including 18,695 square meters of enclosed area. The facility has a new construction ship capacity of 34,160 DWT per year. Equipped with a 400-ton gantry crane covering the production area, it facilitates all operations with ease. On the pier, it offers rapid service to vessels with a 40-ton jib crane and a 10-ton tower crane. With a total of 25 cranes of varying tonnages in open and enclosed areas, Turkter Shipyard ensures efficient lifting capabilities. Featuring two docks, it can accommodate up to four ships simultaneously, providing dockside, crane, and repair services. Additionally, holding ISO 9000, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 45001 quality certifications, it boasts two enclosed, environmentally friendly paint halls and a shop primer sandblasting and painting unit, enabling high-quality paint application to blocks and steel used in production.
